Two Leica photographers, Vineet Vohra and Viet Thanh Nguyen and invited photographer Chu Viet Ha will co-host a workshop on street photography in Hanoi including a photo walk on the 15th and 16th of April 2017.
This course is a rare opportunity for those who love street life photography to learn from veteran photographers. Also, this is a chance to keep up with new skills and trends of street photography around the world.
About the workshop:
1. Photo talk:
Time: 15/04/2017 – From 9:00 to 12:00
Place: Up Coworking Space, third floor, A17 Bach Khoa building, 17 Ta Quang Buu, Hanoi.
Format: The course will cover all aspects of street photography, both theoretical and practical. Examples of 3 photographers’ works and explanations of how they made these works will be included. Also, 3 photographers will instruct participants how to look for and record interesting things on the street and how to develop their thinking as well as personal style.
2. Photowalk.
Time: Saturday 15/04/2017, 15:00 to 17:00, Sunday 16/04/2017. 7:00 to 10:00.
Place: Around Hoan Kiem lake, meeting point at Ly Thai To flower garden.
Format: Photowalk with 3 mentors.
– Participants are divided into 4 to 5 small group to explore Hanoi with one of the mentors.
– Editting session with the mentors and receive feedbacks after the walk.
Fee: 50USD or 1.200.000 VND / pax.

About the mentors.
Vineet Vohra is a photographer from Delhi, India, with over 17 years of eperience in printing and publisling industry. He did masters in fine arts from the prestigious college of arts. He is a self-taught photographer and street photography is a passion that he follows like a discipline.
Viet Thanh Nguyen was born in 1970 in Hanoi, Vietnam. He graduated from Hanoi University of Culture majoring in Archaeology. In 1994, he worked for Vietnam News as a photojournalist. After participating in the workshop by Indochina Media Memorial Foundation in 2001 and graduating with honor from Berlin School of Journalism in 2005, Viet Thanh has been pursuing photojournalism and documentary photography. He is one of the most famous contemporary photographers and a Leica ambassador in Vietnam.
Chu Viet Ha is a street photographer widely known for his photos that capture daily moments of Hanoi. He is a devout follower of the philosophy of pursuing decisive moments. As he wants himself and the audience to be part of the scene, he always tries to get as close to the subject as possible. He is currently an editor for APF (Art Photo Feature) Forum about street photography and The APF Magazine and other street photography forums.
